Practise editing

I drew a rough sketch of what I wanted my front cover to look like.
One idea that I had was incorporating the colour red by having a red phone box in the background of my image. I thought about having most of the magazine black and white but having the red in colour. So the red of the lips and the phone box.
I had a practice of editing an image on pixlr and I came up with the image below. This is some thing I could try to recreate this. This model in this image is just taken from online but I would need to take my own images. I definitely like the idea of putting red lipstick on my model.  I don't think I will put a bow on my model because ideally I would like to put  a cover line but if there was a bow there it would be hard to. I also experimented having a red square with the masthead on- similar to NME and Q. I need to decide whether I prefer the font on a red background or on its own.  When the font is in a red square it looks bolder.  Yet, without the red square it looks a little bit more brave. Both ways reflect the rebellious style that I want to aim for with my indie rock magazine.
Other than using a red telephone box I have thought about other things I could use as a background. I have considered just having a white background. This would make it look like the picture has been taken in a professional studio.

I could look at having another red object. From my research I have found that the background images are quite simple and do not have that much detail.
